PRESENTATION: Telmisartan 40mg+Metoprolol 50 Mg SR Tablets
DRUG CLASS: ARB+BETA-BLOCKER
MECHANISM OF ACTION: Telmisartan is a non-peptide AT1 angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It exerts antihypertensive activity by preventing angiotensin II from binding to AT1 receptors thus inhibiting the vasoconstricting and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II. Metoprolol competes with adrenergic neurotransmitters such as catecholamines for binding at beta(1)-adrenergic receptors in the heart and vascular smooth muscle. Beta(1)-receptor blockade results in a decrease in heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure.
INDICATIONS: Hypertension
DOSAGE: As Directed by the Physician
