PRESENTATION: Sodium bicarbonate 500mg /100mg tablets  

DRUG CLASS:  Alkalinizing Agent; Antacid , Electrolyte supplement  

MECHANISM OF ACTION: Dissociates to provide bicarbonate ion which neutralizes hydrogen ion concentration and raises blood and urinary pH 

INDICATIONS:  Antacid: Relief of acid indigestion, heartburn, sour stomach, and upset stomach.

Metabolic acidosis: Management of metabolic acidosis. 

Urine alkalinization: Alkalinization agent for urine, including management of specific overdoses (eg, salicylates).
