DRUG CLASS: Proton pump inhibitor & Antidyspeptic
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Rabeprazole : Rabeprazole is an antiulcer drug in the class of proton pump inhibitors. It is a prodrug - in the acid environment of the parietal cells it turns into active sulphenamide form. Rabeprazole inhibits the H+, K+ATPase of the coating gastric cells and dose-dependent oppresses basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion.
Levosulpiride : The main mechanism of action of levosulpiride consists of blocking the D2 dopaminergic receptors, preferentially located on the presynaptic membranes in the dopaminergic pathways of the brain; this means that sulpiride is a selective autoreceptor blocker.
Levosulpiride is used for the treatment of upper abdominal pain and bloating, nausea, vomiting, irritable bowel movement, irregular emptying of the stomach in diabetic patients.
INDICATIONS: GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), Acid peptic ulcers , Heart Burn, Nausea
