Glimepiride 1mg + Metformin 1000mg SR

PRESENTATION: Glimepiride 1 mg & Sustained Release Metformin Hydrochloride  1000 mg Tablets

DRUG CLASS: Sulfonylurea (Glimepiride) & Biguanide (Metformin)

MECHANISM OF ACTION:  Glimepiridestimulates insulin release from the pancreatic beta cells; reduces glucose output from the liver; insulin sensitivity is increased at peripheral target sites.

Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal absorption of glucose and improves insulin sensitivity (increases peripheral glucose uptake and utilization)

INDICATIONS: Type 2 diabetes & in case monotherapy wih glimepiride or metformin alone does not result in adequate glycemic control.

DOSAGE: As Directed by the Physician
